This blog is all about a fun project I've started that will span the length of time it takes me to go from unpublished writer to published author.
I was the finalist in a children's writing contest and it was the first writing contest I ever entered. I was completely energized and now I want to enter every writing contest I can find. I'm sure there are other writers out there who have experienced the same joys and positive energy that make them want to keep on trying, too. It's very uplifting to win something and makes you feel valid as a writer.
I am also currently revising a novel I wrote that won the first round of 2009's ABNA Award, and while it got a good review, it still needs lots of work. But best intentions being what they are, people have to live their lives, work, eat, play, and sleep. Revisions can't happen 24-7. Life also throws a few curve balls at you and you have to deal with those from time to time.
So, how do you stay focused on your writing knowing you might have a couple of really good ideas in the works, but realizing you don't have all the time in the world - nor the stick-to-it-iveness - necessary to succeed?
Well, first start by brewing the perfect cup of coffee...
